About

Art worth knowing. A gallery you can stay with.

Researched artwork, understandable prices, documented ownership and responsive care.

The gallery's main room, hung and empty before opening

(b) — What we are

A gallery first

London Gallery Club sources, shows and sells original art and editions. We help collectors choose work, understand the documentation that comes with it, and arrange delivery, display and long-term care. We develop a small number of artists through an agreed programme.

The gallery, the website, the advisors, the events and the Club are different ways into the same business. They share one catalogue, one set of records, one pricing policy and one standard of service.

Our income comes from completed art transactions and from services we have actually delivered. That is the whole model, and it is deliberately the whole model.

(c) — How we are paid

No hidden side of the table

On every transaction we tell you which role we are in. Most work is sold on consignment: the artist or owner keeps title until the sale completes, and we earn an agreed commission.

Primary work on consignment
An agreed commission on the sale price, set out in the artist's agreement.
Private sales for owners
A disclosed seller's commission, or a buyer's fee where we act for the buyer — never both without telling you.
Gallery-owned stock
We own the work and earn the margin. The artwork page says so.
Editions
A production and sale margin against a closed, published edition register.
Services
An explicit fee for defined work, quoted before we start.
The Club
A monthly fee for benefits delivered during that month.

(d) — Standards

How we run the place

One record per work

Identity, ownership, condition, rights, location and financial status are separate fields. A work is never simply 'sold'.

One valid allocation

A reservation locks a work across every channel with an expiry. Two people are never told the same thing is available.

Evidence before description

Biographies, edition counts, exhibition history and comparisons are checked before they are published. Gaps are declared.

Checks that stop a trade

A nominated officer can hold any transaction. Sanctions and identity checks are not a formality here.

Records you can have

Your invoices, certificates, condition reports and care notes belong to you and are available on request.

Answerable people

Every enquiry, order and complaint has a named owner and a next action, not a shared inbox.
